GeoKit© - Waterproofing of autonomous waste water treatment
With its various waterproofing solutions for individual waste water treatment Flexirub is now the French leader in this booming market.
Solutions suitable for each individual waste water treatment network
Since 1998 Flexirub has offered a kit containing all the geosynthetics (geomembranes. geogrids, geotextiles) making it possible to provide waterproofing and separation of granulates within the sand filter.
There are 2 types of sand filter: Drained sand filters and non-drained sand filters. For perfect tank waterproofing the standard, DTU 64.1 2013 Version, requires the use of the Geokit with the PVC geomembrane. Conversely, the Geokit LDPE sand filter is tolerated by the DTU but does not in any way guarantee that your waste water treatment system is watertight. It is important to adhere to the requirements of SPANC (Public Service for Autonomous Waste Water Treatment), otherwise the SPANC may withdraw an installation that does not conform to the DTU.Advantages of the Flexirub offer
- Brands recognised on the French market such as GeoKit® and Geoplus®
- Waterproofing kits suitable for each of the traditional individual waste water treatment networks
- Products meeting the DTU 64.1 standards or approved by the Ministry of the Environment

GEOKIT® DRAINED SAND FILTER
To meet the requirements of each of its customers, Flexirub offers three different waterproofing kits for drained sand filters.
The drained sand filter is made up mainly of layers of sand and gravel. In the context of this network, waste water treatment is performed by the sand and the micro-organisms fixed around the granulates. The treated water is then discharged into the natural environment in a water course or ditch. The drained sand filter with PVC geomembrane can be put in place if the soil has low permeability, so as to avoid the waste water contaminating underground water. The water therefore infiltrates the soil after treatment.A system for soils with low permeability
Le Geokit®
The Geokit® PVC drained sand filter is the waterproofing kit which guarantees maximum watertightness of the sand filter. It therefore makes it possible to secure the waterproofing with a 1.05 mm thick PVC geomembrane, which resists puncturing and tearing. This product meets the new standard, NF DTU 64.1 dated August 2013, which particularly requires the presence of a geomembrane to guarantee that the sand filter is watertight. The Geokit® PVC drained sand filter is available in 10 different formats of between 20 and 65 m² and Flexirub also offers you a made-to-measure format.
PVC drained sand filter
The components
- 1 PVC geomembrane, 1.05 mm
- 1 separation geogrid
- 1 separation geotextile, 150 g/m²
- 1 collar with waterproof flanges
- 1 self-adhesive supple collar with integral holes for screws
- 6 staples for holding the geomembrane
Le Geokit®
LDPE drained sand filter
The Geokit® 0.4 mm LDPE Drained Sand Filter is a traditional solution for the vertical drained sand filter. The 0.4 mm LDPE film makes it possible to make the gravel pack impermeable. For perfect waterproofing of the tank DTU 64.1 requires the use of the Geokit with the PVC geomembrane (see corresponding Flexirub reference).
The components
- 1 LDPE film, 0.4 mm
- 1 separation geogrid
- 1 separation geotextile, 150 g/m²
- 1 collar with waterproof flanges
- 1 adhesive collar
GEOKIT® NON-DRAINED SAND FILTER
Depending on the type of soil, it is sometimes necessary to install a non-drained sand filter.
In the same way as for a drained sand filter, waste water treatment is carried out by the sand and the microorganisms fixed around the granulates. The non-drained sand filter is made up mainly of layers of sand and gravel. Unlike the drained sand filter, the non-drained sand filter has nothing to hold back the treated water. So the water directly infiltrates the soil following treatment. This type of filter is put in place if the soil is insufficiently or too permeable.A system for soil that is insufficiently or too permeable.
Le Geokit®
Non-drained sand filter
The Geokit® Non-drained sand filter is a waterproofing kit which contains only separation and filtration elements. There is therefore no element to hold back water in this kit. The Geokit® non-drained sand filter is available in 10 different formats of between 20 and 65 m² and Flexirub also offers you a made-to-measure format.
The components
- 1 separation geogrid
- 1 separation geotextile, 150 g/m²
The Geokit®
Non-drained sand filter
with lateral waterproofing
For a non-drained sand filter a lateral waterproofing option is available to prevent environmental contamination by polluting effluents. The Geokit® non-drained sand filter is available in 5 different formats of between 20 and 40 m² and Flexirub also offers you a made-to-measure format.
The components
- 1 separation geogrid
- 1 separation geotextile, 150 g/m²
- 1 LDPE lateral film, 0.4 mm
GEOKIT® MOUND
The infiltration mound is a vertical sand filter recreated above ground. It is generally used when it is impossible to put a standard sand filter in place.
The filtration mound is an “above ground” sand filter. It is reconstituted soil raised in relation to the natural terrain which makes the installation of a raising station essential if the dwelling is not raised. It is recommended in the case of soil that is difficult to dig, in a flood area or where there is a high water table. The filtration mound is made up of gravel and sand which provides the water treatment. The treated water then infiltrates the soil.A system for soil that is difficult to dig or high water tables
The drained Geokit® Mound
The drained Geokit® Mound makes it possible to ensure the water tightness of a filtration mound. This product is only made-to-measure.
The components
- 1 separation geogrid
- 1 separation geotextile, 150 g/m²
- 1 LDPE film, 0.4 mm
- 1 collar with waterproof flanges
- 1 adhesive collar
The non-drained Geokit® Mound
The non-drained Geokit® Mound only contains the separation and filtration elements. This product is only made-to-measure.
The components
- 1 separation geogrid
- 1 separation geotextile, 150 g/m²
GEOPLUS® DISPERSAL
With Geoplus®, Flexirub provides a solution that is accessible and easy to install to guarantee the watertightness of drainage trenches (dispersal system).
Waste water treatment by drainage trench, also commonly known as a dispersal system, is the most standard system for individual sewage treatment. Waste water, pre-treated in a septic tank that takes all water, crosses a gravel bed before directly infiltrating the dispersal soil.Geoplus®, the Flexirub solution for dispersal
The Geoplus® Special Dispersal is a geotextile made in non-woven, needled, calendered polypropylene with an anti-UV treatment. It has two main functions; liquid filtration by retaining the finest particles and separation of the material layers. It guarantees liquid circulation with no blockages. The Geoplus® complies with the DTU.
Flexirub offers you a range of professional accessories to facilitate installation, and finishings for the made-to-measure EPDM membranes.
